Transparency Act

The Act on Transparency in Businesses and Work with Fundamental Human Rights and Decent Working Conditions ( the Transparency Act ) entered into force on 01.07.2022. The purpose of the Act is to “promote businesses’ respect for fundamental human rights and decent working conditions in connection with the production of goods and the provision of services, and ensure the general public’s access to information about how businesses deal with negative consequences for fundamental human rights and decent working conditions.”

Metis Education sets strict requirements and guidelines for all suppliers who sell goods to our companies. Among other things, there is zero tolerance for child labor, discrimination and corruption. In addition, there are requirements for fair wages, HSE and that environmental considerations are taken into account.

We have a close dialogue with all suppliers we purchase goods from, to ensure that they understand and comply with our ethical guidelines. Metis Utdanning works for good, long-term partnerships, so that we can make employees and students safe at our schools. As a company with only Norwegian employees and minimal imports, we still have a focus on ensuring that the business's operations do not have a negative impact on human rights and have decent working conditions.

We follow up with suppliers to ensure they know Metis' understanding of, and focus on, the legal requirements.
