1-to-1 teaching with a private teacher
At Metis High School, all students receive private tutoring hours included each semester. The offer is provided through Metis Private Tutoring, which is also part of Metis Education.
One-to-one tutoring gives students the opportunity to get extra support exactly where they need it. For some, it's about getting a better overview of a subject that they find challenging. For others, it's about working more purposefully towards tests, assessments or exams. Our private tutors are not only skilled in their subject, students also receive help to develop good work habits, better study techniques and learning strategies that they can use further in everyday school life.
Teaching takes place either at our premises at Lars Hilles gate 17 or digitally. For many students, this becomes a calm and concentrated work session with one professional, one subject and full focus.
The offer is used both by students who need extra support and by students who want to improve their performance.

Right in the center of Bergen
Our school is located at Lars Hilles gate 17, midway between Grieghallen and Bystasjonen. As a student, you are close to all public transport options. Our location also means that we can use cultural activities and businesses in the city center for a varied school day.

Block days
As a student at Metis High School, you will experience a different school day. You will mostly have one subject per day, so-called block days. This gives you peace and time to immerse yourself in one subject at a time.

A safe start to school
The transition from middle school to high school is a big one for many. At our school, we take the time to get to know each other. We know that safety and well-being are among the most important framework factors for learning to take place.

Personal mentor and private teacher
From the first day of school you will have your own mentor who will follow you closely throughout the school year. The mentor will be your supporter and conversation partner. All Vg1 students at Metis receive five hours of free private tutoring (PL) in mathematics, both before and after Christmas.

Good digital tools are important to get the most out of your education. That's why as a student you will be given your own Mac with the Adobe package at the start of school, which you will have at your disposal for as long as you are a student with us.
