For those of you who….

...want a varied school life with lots of practical and creative work, while at the same time gaining general study skills.

Media and Communication (MK) gives you an exciting and industry-oriented school life.

Varied school life

At MK you will experience a varied school life that gives you expertise in all the different fields of study in the media industry. With us you will receive training in film, photography, graphic design, advertising, journalism, animation, TV production and sound design. You can also choose to delve further into one or more of these fields in Vg2 and Vg3.

Collaboration with the media industry

Metis High School is located a stone's throw from Media City Bergen. Here you will find all the major media companies in the city, such as TV2, NRK, BT and Vizrt. Metis High School is a member of, and has close ties to, Media City Bergen. As a student with us, you will get to experience life in the industry and work on real projects from external clients.

Equipment and software

As a student at MK, you get access to the school's photo, TV and sound studios. We have modern media equipment, and you get your own Mac with the latest version of Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, Lightroom, Audition and After Effects. You don't need to have experience with either equipment or software. Here you learn everything from scratch.

Many more opportunities

Several of our former media students have found jobs in companies such as NRK, TV2, BT, BA and VG. Others have chosen to study to become, among others, lawyers, teachers or psychologists. The possibilities are many if you choose MK at Metis.

Interview with Helen

How was the transition from middle school to high school?

You have more responsibility for what you learn. We have more freedom and get to be creative in our own way. Here you get praise for thinking differently.

Do you have any good tips for new students?

  • Don't be afraid to talk to people.

  • Talk across people – not just with the same person
