The training sessions are planned based on quality criteria developed by Olympiatoppen. The goal is to ensure the best training practices for the athletes. You get morning training three times a week, two of which are sport-specific, the third is strength training adapted to your sport. In addition, you can choose to fully specialize in science or social studies. At top sports, students travel to training camps abroad every year. Here they live like top athletes and there is a focus on training, diet and experiences.
Tailored to your sport
Physical education takes place in facilities that are adapted to the sport you are involved in. We aim to be the most flexible school and have a good collaboration with the students' clubs.
You can immerse yourself in all top sports such as football, handball, basketball, athletics, martial arts, swimming and more. Metis top sports has highly qualified coaches and its own top sports manager who helps you achieve your goals with sports - while also achieving your goals for your high school diploma.

Johannes thrives at Metis. He likes the balance between school and training.
Why did you choose Top Sports?
I chose it because it allowed me to combine football and school in a good way. I have been playing football for eleven years. I play for the Åsane football team. Metis is also centrally located and there are many nice people here who I know well.
How was the first day of school?
The first day of school was fun. There were a lot of new faces and old faces. A nice experience where we had a lot of getting-to-know-you games. I knew a couple from before, some from football and old school.
What is a typical school day like for you?
I either have training or school in the morning. We usually have one subject a day. We also have good breaks and after school I go straight to training.
What is a typical school week like for you?
On Monday we only have school and no training. On Tuesday it's pre-football training and on Wednesday it's strength training before school. Thursday is no training and on Friday it's football training. We train three times a week. When we train strength training it's at the gym.
What is your favorite subject?
Norwegian or social studies. In Norwegian you can write a little and do independent work. In social studies there are topics I am interested in – I am socially engaged.
What's the best thing about Metis?
The best thing about Metis is that I can combine school and training without it being too much of a burden. That's good. There's also good dialogue between the schools and the club I play for, so it doesn't get too much either.
How was the transition from middle school to high school?
I think it was okay. The social aspect was exciting with the transition, but it has gone just fine. Academically it has also gone well. There is a lot of new, but it is not too difficult either.
What is the environment like at school?
I think it's really good. Right now we're a nice, close-knit group. I like the people.
