Metis Upper Secondary School is one of the most popular upper secondary schools in Vestland. At the school you will meet skilled and committed teachers who are concerned about your learning, while at the same time making high demands on you in terms of effort, active participation and contribution. As a student at Metis Upper Secondary School, you will experience a different school day. You will generally only have one subject per day, so-called block days. This gives you time and peace to immerse yourself in the subject. Block days also make it possible to move parts of the teaching out of the classroom.
We are good at taking advantage of everything Bergen has to offer in terms of theatre, cinema, museum and local businesses. Safety and well-being are important to us at Metis, and we know that it is one of the most important framework factors for learning to take place. You will have your own mentor who will follow you closely throughout the school year. The mentor will be your supporter and conversation partner throughout the school year. Metis is part of the MOT program, and works every day to prevent social challenges and exclusion among children and young people. The goal is to build an inclusive classroom and school environment, as well as increase young people's awareness of their own choices and opportunities.
At Metis we want to take responsibility, challenge, be curious and awaken motivation in you as a student. At our school you will find students and teachers who are open and seek new challenges. As an organization, we are up to date on trends and equipment, and we will dare to try new methods and new technology.
In conclusion, we must mention that we are very proud that 99% of our students complete their education here at Metis High School. Completion of upper secondary education is considered the basis for a successful entry into further studies and a career in the working world.
