Environmental Learning Through Mobile Devices
"Environmental Learning Through Mobile Devices" (ELMO) is led by Metis. We have partners from schools in Greece, Italy and Spain. The educational platform ItsLearning joined us as an associate partner. This project is based on teacher collaboration, where we use our students as case studies.

Joint conference Elmo & Citizens Inquiry in Bergen 24/4-28/4 2023
Metis hosted the latest Learning, Teaching and Training (LTT) event for the two Erasmus+ projects Elmo and Citizens Inquiry at Media City in Bergen. As part of the LTT event, we organized a workshop and the entire teaching staff at Metis participated. The workshop explored the history of the two projects and some practical examples of case studies (student activities) the partners have worked on. The presentation was in line with three horizontal EU objectives:
1) Environment and climate
2) Innovative practice in a digital age
3) Shared values, community engagement and participation
The workshop started with Dr Kevin Burden's talk on mobile learning and the iPac model, before the partner institutions presented their multimodal case studies on environmental issues and suitable digital applications.
The purpose of the workshop was to encourage participants to apply the principles of Elmo and Citizens Inquiry to an area within their own teaching practice.
Curipod – student debate:
As part of the Elmo project, Metis organized an online international student debate on environmental issues, using the Curipod application, where students shared their thoughts on local environmental problems in their respective countries. Watch the Curipod debate here.
