Germany 2025

Five students from Metis Upper Secondary School in Bergen participated in an Erasmus+ student exchange to St. Hildegardis Gymnasium in Duisburg, Germany, in March 2025. The visit was part of the project Internationalization with a focus on foreign languages (German, English) . Before the trip, the students prepared themselves with assignments about the Norwegian school system and school environment.

The stay lasted four days, with host families who welcomed the students warmly. They got to experience both German everyday life and culture, including through meals, board games and joint excursions. One of the highlights was a day trip to Cologne, with a visit to the famous Cologne Cathedral and meeting with football players from Bayern Munich. The students also participated in Erasmus+ project work at the school.

The stay provided new insights into cultural differences, including between the Norwegian and German school systems and the use of technology in everyday life. The exchange was experienced as educational and personally developing, and the students greatly appreciated the experiences they gained.
